More Information

Important Info:

  • NOAA will be shutting down the 2023 database this spring. If you submitted your materials in 2023 and you’d like to continue to be considered for positions, you must participate in one of the 2024 opportunities.
  • Do not email us your materials – use the link below to submit materials directly to USAJOBS.
  • People with STEM, policy, education backgrounds, and others, are all potentially good fits for Management & Program Analyst roles and can apply to this intake! Some of the future intakes may have more specific education requirements, limiting who can apply.
  • The most up-to-date information for alumni is available at NOAA’s Conservation Service Corps Act Direct Hiring Authority web page.

Should I participate in this resume intake?

  • We encourage ALL eligible alumni to apply to the Series 0343 intake – this position has no specific educational requirements. NOAA needs people from all academic backgrounds to serve as management and program analysts, so this intake is open to people with any type of degree.
  • Remember, you can apply to as many of these intakes as you are interested in and are qualified for! Future intakes may have specific coursework requirements.

What types of jobs could I get through this series?

  • NOAA hires management and program analysts to ensure that decisions about programs or activities are made objectively, are defensible, and are based on the best available information. In this role, you could have a wide range of responsibilities, from advising office leadership on the latest research to analyzing data to helping develop budgets.
  • These roles help translate science into practice in the NOAA mission of science, service, and stewardship.

How is this different from last year’s intake, and why?

  • In 2023, there was one intake. We found that hiring managers had difficulty narrowing down the pool to find qualified candidates for specific positions.
  • This year, we are making it easier for hiring managers to find you by having multiple intakes for specific types of positions. Each intake will create a separate database of candidates that hiring managers can use to fill positions.

If I submitted materials in 2023, do I need to do this one, too?

  • YES! NOAA will be shutting down the 2023 database this spring. If you’d like to continue to be considered for positions, you must participate in one of our 2024 opportunities.

What kinds of jobs will hiring managers use this resume intake for?

  • This particular intake is ONLY for Management and Program Analyst positions.
  • Management & Program Analysts have different jobs across all programs and offices in NOAA. Generally speaking, they translate NOAA’s science into practice. In this role, you could have a wide range of responsibilities, from advising office leadership on the latest research to analyzing data to helping develop budgets.

What do I need to do to participate?

  • You’ll need your federal-style resume, academic transcripts, and Certificate of Successful Completion from your program. Materials must be submitted on USAJobs.

What should I do if I have a question or need help with the CCA DHA, USAJobs, or anything related to NOAA hiring?

Have you graduated within the past two years OR will you be graduating in spring of 2024?

  • You may be eligible for NOAA’s 2024 hiring campaign for the 21st Century Conservation Service Corps direct hire authority (CCA DHA)! We’ll have multiple opportunities based on job type. When you participate in one of these, NOAA will confirm your CCA eligibility, then provide your information to hiring managers. If you are a competitive fit for a position, a hiring manager will contact you to discuss next steps.

How do I participate in the intakes I’m interested in?

  • If you participated in the FY 2023 resume database, you must re-submit your materials to be part of the FY 2024 opportunity.
