Extreme Precipitation Downscaling Positions at CIRES/NOAA PSL

The Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) in Boulder, CO is seeking professionals to contribute to high-resolution downscaling research addressing extreme precipitation risks to the nation’s high-hazard infrastructure. 

The incumbents will work with an established team of scientists at the NOAA Physical Sciences Laboratory (PSL) to exercise existing software on a diversity of High Performance Computing (HPC) and cloud platforms, conduct data management, and provide scientific evaluation of the results to serve a larger team project focusing on precipitation extremes. The project’s outputs will serve a diverse community of users including fellow researchers in weather and climate science communities, stakeholders across a wide range of infrastructure agencies, and water resource decision-makers.

  2. Unified Forecast System (UFS) Reanalysis and Reforecast Research Scientist
