Biography

Ashley McAfee earned a BS, December 2018, in the department of Geology/Environmental Science at The University of Texas at El Paso and was a Cohort 2 NCAS-M Fellow. Ashley was interested in the NCAS-M focus area – Effective Communication of Climate and Weather Risk in support of the NCAS-M theme: Interdisciplinary scientific research for building resilient communities against weather extremes. Recent research experience involved assisting two graduate students in their research surrounding the movement of the Planetary Boundary Layer in the Paso Del Norte region, and how it affects aerosol distribution.

Ashley is currently pursuing her MS in Sociology at University of Texas- El Paso.
