January 25 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free

The District of Columbia Commission on Climate Change & Resiliency will host a public Knowledge Forum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library (901 G St. NW).

This event seeks to take stock of existing knowledge related to climate change in the District of Columbia, strengthen community networks, and generate forward-looking ideas. The event is a research component for the Commission’s third legislatively mandated report to the Mayor and Council, scheduled to be released in October 2025.

The agenda exclusively focuses on the District of Columbia and the past, present, and future of how climate change impacts people and organizations in our city. We seek to hear directly from citizens, researchers, organizations, and agencies.

Content areas included in the event:

  • Adaptation to climate change, including heat, precipitation, and sea level rise;
  • Mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions;
  • Community engagement and market transformation.

To submit a proposal, please fill out this presentation proposal form by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, December 9.
