Jo-Anne Manswell Butty, PhD
Dr. Jo-Anne Manswell Butty is the Education Expert at the Cooperative Science Center for Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology at Howard University. Her responsibilities include implementing the education and training strategy across thirteen NCAS-M institutions. Dr. Manswell Butty will be responsible for Center-wide level leadership and coordination to assure that all NCAS-M supported students are successfully gaining the Center’s Education Plan, education, training, experiential and professional development to attain the working skills and competencies for the agency mission future workforce. Dr. Manswell Butty has extensive experience in: a) higher education workforce development to successfully graduate students and assessments to demonstrate students attain the requisite working skills and competencies for the workforce; b) program evaluation in local, national, and international settings in the areas of education, STEM, and public health; c) research including conceptualization, design, quantitative and qualitative methodologies, data analysis, technical report writing, and publications; d) professional development among students and teachers to improve student development, classroom quality, and teacher efficacy; e) university teaching both face-to-face and online in various areas such as educational psychology, human learning, and education research, and f) grants administration with the application and successful acquisition and management of multi-year federal, state, and local grants.
