The 7th NOAA AI Workshop focusing on generative AI (GenAI) in Earth and space sciences

Dear colleagues,

You are invited to join the 7th NOAA AI Workshop focusing on generative AI (GenAI) in Earth and space sciences hosted by NOAA’s Center for Artificial Intelligence. This event is part of the annual NOAA AI workshop series to foster a community around AI research and applications relevant to NOAA missions.

To expand engagement with the community, this year’s NOAA AI Workshop will host virtual events in March and June to increase the accessibility of these engagement activities. Each event will focus on different aspects of GenAI. This year’s AI Workshop event series will conclude with a two-day hybrid event in Boulder, CO (to be confirmed) in September with panels and sessions spanning all topics around GenAI for environmental sciences. More information on this year’s workshop event schedule is listed below.

  • March 3, 2025 (11:00–16:30 EST, virtual*): Generative modeling for Earth and space sciences.

  • June, 2025 (time to be determined, virtual*): Generative AI for Information Services.

  • September, 2025 (time to be determined, hybrid*): Generative AI Applications in Environmental Sciences.

*: All virtual events will be hosted via Zoom meetings.

The high-level agenda of the March event is included below (all time listed in EST):

11:00–11:30: NCAI Overview and NOAA Leadership Remarks

11:30–13:00: Generative Modeling for Earth and Space Sciences

13:00–14:00: Break

14:00–15:30: Data Challenges and Innovation for Generative Modeling

15:30–16:00: NOAA AI Project Lightning Talks and Future Development

16:00: Stay Engaged with NCAI
