The National Integrated Heat Health Information System (NIHHIS) team in NOAA’s Climate Program Office is hiring a full-time permanent data scientist to lead development of new decision-support capabilities for heat and health decision-makers.
This position will focus on:
Building deep relationships with users of climate and health information to understand their decision-making, data, and information needs.
Piloting and developing scientific/statistical visualizations, products, tools, and other capabilities to support heat risk management and mitigation.
Exploring opportunities to apply novel technologies and approaches in data science to enhance heat and health decision-making, such as AI/ML, cloud computing, and citizen science.
