Brianna Ross is earning a BS in the department of Chemistry at Jackson State University and is a Cohort- 2 NCAS-M Fellow. I am interested in the NCAS-M focus area — 2: Improved Quantification of Forecast Uncertainty in support of the NCAS-M theme: 2: Innovative observations for advancing the analysis and prediction of weather, climate, and atmospheric chemistry. My recent research experience involves analyzing the local meteorology conditions to determine the effect on ground-level ozone concentrations in Jackson, MS. To conduct my research, I plan to study the atmospheric conditions and MSDEQ ozone data, case studies, and Wolf-Chemistry model simulations. Using the results, I would like to construct a plan to issue more informative air quality alerts. Latrice Maxie (NWS Flowood, MS) and Rodney Cuevas (MDEQ) will assist in meteorology data collection.
