Alycia Triplett
Biography
Alycia Triplett was a 2019 rising sophomore at Jackson State University studying meteorology. She participated in the NCAS-M Experiential Training Summer Program (ETSP). Her ETSP project, titled, “Air-Sea Interactions and High Winds Associated with Hurricane Harvey Using Satellite Data and Storm Surge Modeling”, allowed her to work with NOAA Collaborators, Bill Parker (WFO Jackson), Latrice Maxie (WFO Jackson) and Dr. Jamie Rhome (NHC). Alycia’s NCAS-M Mentors were Drs. Remata Reddy and Duanjun Lu. She later received support via the EPP/MSI Undergraduate Scholarship Program. Alycia continued to pursue a MS in Atmospheric Sciences at Howard University as a NCAS-M II Cohort 1 Fellow. Her Research Thematic Area is Effective Communication of Climate and Weather Risk.
